In Science at Bishopton PRU we strive to maintain students’ curiosity in the world around them. Linking scientific concepts with real life situations. We have a belief that Science is best taught, where possible, within a practical context and endeavour to produce lasting learning experiences to enrich student’s understanding.
During lessons pupils will be involved in carrying out experiments and watching demonstrations, in addition to working from textbooks and using ICT resources.

We believe that Science has something to offer every student. That is why we have a Science qualification for Key Stage 4 to suit students of all abilities and all aspirations. At Bishopton, we endeavour to foster a love of Science as well as developing pupil’s curiosity in the world around them.
Key stage 4
In Key Stage 4 Pupils study towards AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy. This is a two year linear course which is assessed across six examinations at the end of Year 11. The examinations include multiple choice, structured, closed and open short answer questions.
Throughout the course pupils will study:
