Creative Achievements

At Bishopton we are extremely proud of all our students and staff. Everyday we challenge ourselves and each other. We try and ensure each student has the opportunity to be creative and learn new skills and develop their cultural appreciation.

Busta Ryhme Poetry

Six talented students at Bishopton and Redhill have beaten nationwide competition and been selected from over 60,000 entries to have their poetry published in an anthology. The Busta Rhyme competition, organised by Young Writers, was a nationwide challenge to ‘give verse a voice’ and encourage students to write their own lyrical poetry about a topic they feel strongly about.

PROTEIN Dance Project

In April 2019 the school welcomed back artists from the Protein Dance Project. Based on a model that Protein has developed over the past ten years, the project aimed to build young people’s confidence, self worth and achievement through their incorporation within a professional dance company. In addition, the project served to build links between our school and our local arts centre. Over an intensive three-week residency at the ARC, Protein worked alongside pupils to create an end of project performance for staff, family and friends at the Arc in Stockton. The performance was spectacular and powerful. Students also obtained a recognised qualification through Arts Award. During the three week project, participants worked towards gaining their Bronze Arts Award, accredited by Trinity College London. To achieve Bronze, a Level 1 award on the Regulated Qualifications.
