Bishopton prides itself on high expectations regarding behaviour. We understand that our pupils have often been permanently excluded from mainstream education but by utilising small groups, high staff ratios, specialist staff and an engaging personalised curriculum, we work hard to modify behaviours and allow the pupils to be successful socially, emotionally and academically.

We feel that positive behaviour should be rewarded, celebrated and recorded; therefore Bishopton has developed a BRAG rating system.

Each day, from the moment pupils arrive on site until the leave, pupils are able to earn up to 100 points each day (1 point = 1p).

It is the responsibility of teaching staff and teaching assistants to record the behaviour of pupils on a daily/weekly basis. This information is then collated and recorded by Tutors and teaching assistants.

Parents/carers will receive a minimum of one phone call per week informing them of their child’s BRAG rating and an update on their behaviour and progress.

If a pupil earns a BLUE week, they will bank their points in the “Bank of Bishy” and this money will be accumulated each term. In a rewards assembly in the final week of each term, pupils will be rewards with their money in the form of a voucher for a place of their choosing.

For further details on the points, please see the following link below to see how we reward points, our voucher scheme and BRAG system. If you want to discuss this further please contact Bishopton Pru on 01642 566369.
